For our first post I'd like to relate a little story about an extraordinary talent our son Zolo has. Many of our readers will already know about the very recent addition to our family. As I'm sure every first child has done before him, he's managed to upend our world and make quite a mess of things in general. But he's about the cutest thing either of us have ever seen so we'll forgive him for now.
Parents of little boys of course will know that changing time requires a certain amount of agility and evasion. In fact Zolo has already put us all to the test in this respect. The other morning however, Zolo decided to show off a new trick. Astrid had him up on the changing table and had reached that perilous time when the diaper is off and the status of weapon systems is unknown. She was lifting his little butt up in the air, sliding another diaper under him when with no prior warning, a shot was fired from torpedo bay 2. The missile traced a high parabolic path, hung at the apex for a brief moment in all its chunky glory and descended like a falling star to splat-down a whopping 8 feet away on the second step leading down to the first floor of our loft.
"Oh. My. God," Astrid breathed.
Zolo giggled, a knowing twinkle in his eye.
To be clear, this wasn't a spray or a spatter, it was a coherent stream of poo. Airborne. Quite the talent our little one has. While we are excited our son has manifested talents so early in life, we hope that his future aptitudes will be recognized by the wider part of society as such.
Thanks for reading and I'd like to leave you with a link to a small album of some of our favorite Zolo Pics.
